In 2023, Luxembourg faced an alarming rise in cyberattacks, averaging 1,200 attacks per week a 38% increase compared to the previous year. Nearly 40% of Luxembourgish companies were affected, some on multiple occasions, impacting critical sectors such as healthcare, which saw a 74% spike in incidents due to the accelerated pace of digital transformation. Ransomware, especially from groups like LockBit3, Clop, and AlphV, remains among the primary threats. Despite the scale of the risk, cybersecurity investments by Luxembourgish companies remain modest.
In this concerning context, the Security Forum will take place on February 13 in Luxembourg.
